Fiat 500R Endurance
The 500R was the final incarnation of the Fiat 500, made from 1972 to 1975 and sold alongside the Fiat 126 – which was meant to replace it. This benefitted from a bigger 594cc engine (also used in the 126) and a synchromesh gearbox for the first time, which helped it keep up with modern traffic. The interior however went back to basics, with the round speedometer and bare metal dash last seen in the F.
Best suited for:
Drivers who want the best of both worlds: a more modern engine, but a timeless feel.
Pros:
- More power, easier to drive
Cons:
- Commands a premium over the F and the L as it’s harder to find.
